Named Executive Producer of MASTERPIECE in 2019, Susanne Simpson is a two-time Academy Award® nominee and two-time Emmy® winner for her documentary and dramatic films for television and theater. Since joining MASTERPIECE in 2007, Simpson has been responsible for such programs as Sanditon, Sherlock, Wolf Hall, Victoria and All Creatures Great and Small, and oversaw all aspects of the U.S. broadcast of the hit series Downton Abbey, the most watched drama in PBS history and recipient of 69 Emmy® nominations and 15 wins.

Simpson is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and the Writers Guild.

MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE

Kate Phillips (Peaky Blinders) and Stuart Martin are back as private detective Eliza Scarlet, and William “the Duke” Wellington in Miss Scarlet and the Duke, a mystery series set in Victorian London created by Rachael New.

Season 2 opens a few months after the conclusion of Season 1. Eliza has solved a very personal case that vexed her throughout Season 1. Her relationship with William (“the Duke”) continues to slowly simmer, and she continues to face the challenges of being a female private detective in male-dominated Victorian London. Also appearing in the series this season are Cathy Belton (Ivy), Jessie Cave (Hattie Parker), Ansu Kabia (Moses), Simon Ludders (Mr. Potts), Evan McCabe (Oliver Fitzroy), Laura Rollins (Clementine).
